Security Awareness Training

Jane’s Handbook for Staff Members

Recently, one of Jane’s IT wiz’s created this incredible cyber-security training handbook for our staff. It was so helpful for our team and it occurred to us that it might be helpful for yours as well! Who said security awareness training couldn’t be fun? Not us!

Let’s start with a clip from Jimmy Kimmel LIVE! called, “What is Your Password?”. In this awkwardly funny clip, we learn just how open people are to sharing their passwords, and that perhaps we need to work a little bit harder at making our passwords harder to crack, with “password123” being the most popular in 2015… 🤦‍♀️

See for yourself! 🍿

Although we’re poking a bit of fun here, we want you to know that Privacy and Security are always top of mind at Jane, and as the ‘first line of defence’, protecting your data should be top of mind for you as well. 🔒

That’s why we’re sharing this Security Awareness Training Handbook for you and your staff to help educate yourselves so that you can be better prepared if or when a cyber attack occurs. The goal is to protect any and all data.

This handbook is all about protecting your data outside of Jane: data you have saved in your emails, on your computers, tablets, or phones, or passwords to access your accounts. Data inside of Jane is stored in secure servers and is encrypted using 256-bit encryption when sent between your device and our servers (in the same way as your banking information would be). So when we refer to data that can be compromised, we’re referring to the data that isn’t stored securely in Jane.

As we go through the training, you’ll learn about the types of cyber-attacks, how you can prevent them, and what to do in an event when something does happen.

Let’s get started!
