Jane's Guide Here's all the help you need to use Jane.

Importing from Practice Fusion

Here’s what we know about moving over from Practice Fusion to Jane.

Disclaimer about our import guides: We create our guides through the experiences we have importing from different software, as well as searching for guide documents from these softwares to assist our customers in transitioning over to Jane. If you have any difficulty while retrieving your data, it’s best to reach out directly to your current software provider.

Exporting your Patients from Practice Fusion

So coming from Practice Fusion, we’ll need you to upload your Patient Lists export with as much detail as possible.

Under the Reports area in Practice Fusion, the Patient Lists report can be exported to CSV for importing into Jane.

There’s a support document on their website that goes through the step-by-step process on exporting your patient demographics: Exporting Patient Demographics

Exporting your Practice Fusion Appointments

Practice Fusion states here that “As a Practice Fusion user, you are entitled to a free export of your patient data upon termination of your Practice Fusion license.

We have not seen any clinics successfully export any appointment data, as a schedule export is not currently available with Practice Fusion. Appointments will need to be transitioned over manually.

Exporting Charts from Practice Fusion

You do need to contact Practice Fusion directly to have them supply you a detailed chart export that includes your scanned documents/lab uploads.

The self-exported chart notes report only provides basic information and not the actual chart entries themselves.

Practice Fusion suggest you contact customer support directly with this request. They also say, full data exports are typically processed within 4-6 weeks of receipt of the request; however, please note this time frame can vary from practice to practice due to the complexity of the process.

The full data export will be given to you in rar format by Practice Fusion which you can upload directly to Jane along with the password to the encrypted file(s).

We typically process one import per new Jane account but because of the lag in being able to gather your full chart export, we can accommodate two imports (patient and appointment data first and then charts later) from Practice Fusion if needed.

Practice Fusion Billing Data

We don’t import billing information as there are formatting issues between the two systems. Jane has all ICD9 and ICD10 codes already populated but if you have custom codes they will need to be moved over manually.

Uploading into Jane

To ensure that your data is uploaded to the correct account, and for security reasons, we do not accept patient data via email. You can upload the files to us in the Settings > Schedule an Import area.

You can find an overview of this process here: Scheduling Your Import

If you need any further help getting all set up to run with Jane, just let us know!

Other Notes

Practice Fusion will offer a read-only version of their software to all current customers (customers as of February 2018) who do not purchase a subscription plan by May 31, 2018. In this limited access version, you will still be able to view, print, and export patient records as needed for software transition, yay!
