I’m Ali, Co-CEO and Co-Founder of Jane. We’re a mission driven, product led growth company based in North Vancouver that provides an online, easy-to-use practice management platform that helps more than 50,000 allied health providers worldwide run their practices. We’re currently a team of 200 and growing fast using a distributed workforce model.
The short story: We’re looking for a VP of Marketing & Growth to join Jane and help us succeed with the next stage of our journey. 🎉
The long story: I’ve learned that marketing means a lot of things to a lot of different people. One marketing job and successful career path might look nothing like another. For most roles, when you post a job title, everyone knows exactly what that means. In the world of marketing, however, that is not necessarily true! Every time I think I have the words I need to describe this role at Jane I realize it’s too narrow: A product marketer. A brand marketer. A growth marketer. The truth is we really need it all.

We are really looking for someone who has grown a SaaS business from 25M to 75M + in ARR in a mid to senior leadership position and is ready to share their experience with our leadership and marketing team. You’ve done it once (or more) and want to do it again using all that you’ve learned.
Chapter Two: Us 🤝
🎬Your starting point:
Where we’re at (and who we are!): Jane is at a new stage of growth and we are looking for a VP level senior marketing and growth leader to partner with us to build a new growth engine for the business. You’ll be working directly with the Senior Management Team and reporting to the CEOs (Me and Trev). You’ll focus on building the brand, driving acquisition and customer retention.
The mission 🚀: We are well-financed and prepared to grow our customer engine. As a profitable company, we are ready to invest to spread the word so that more allied health practices hear Jane’s story, learn about Jane’s product, and are invited to join Jane’s growing community of users.
We have a marketing foundation that has been focused on content creation and supporting our product-led growth strategy. Our current team consists of a Director of Content and an asset creation team of 6 (producing internal and external content) and a Director of Partnerships/Paid. They are doing great work. You will have autonomy to grow the existing team to support our expanded marketing efforts and best compliment your strengths and weaknesses and our current team’s gaps.
There was a time where we were all generalists, but as we recognize we need to empower our leaders to specialize in order to scale the company even further. Scaling, however, doesn’t mean silos. We still work cross-functionally as one team and goals and priorities are often shared between departments. Everyone gets voice, which requires patience and great communication.
We want to innovate. We know that the market is changing quickly, and we encourage risk-taking and experimentation. Our customers are easily defined by discipline and geography. The opportunity to deliver a delightful marketing experience is wide open. Specifically, we see opportunities to be leaders in a community-driven approach to growth and in building an ecosystem of helpful services beyond our core software. Ultimately, we’re looking for someone who can help answer the question: In a land where modern software is commoditized how can a company stand apart?
Expected avenues of growth will likely include paid (Adwords/Social), channel partnerships, sponsorships, clinical experts, and even direct, but the possibilities are wide open to experiment with other methods that deliver results. You are excited to dig into the data to discover what works, scale up or shut down experiments appropriately, and use storytelling data report your findings to the leadership team and potentially the board.
You and your team will be responsible for brand, customer acquisition, product marketing, and customer/lifecycle marketing supporting retention. Of course, as a product/customer-led company, these areas overlap significantly with other leaders. We are looking for someone who enjoys collaborating with other smart people and working in a team environment.
