Community Story: Magen Henry, Atlanta’s Chiropractor

November 03, 2022

How an Atlanta-based chiropractor uses Jane to automate her practice.

Story by Jack Murphy

Dr. Magen Henry is a mobile chiropractor specializing in perinatal chiropractic work. She practices in Georgia, USA. She is also the creator of Chiro Junky, an initiative helping to bring attention to other black chiropractors working in her area as well as informing her community of the benefits of chiropractic services for health and wellbeing.

Magen started practicing in 2018 and now works as a contractor, moving between two chiropractic offices. She originally went to A&M University in Tallahassee, Florida to study journalism. The summer before her senior year she knew she wanted change, and so she changed her major to biology and learned about the benefits of chiropractic work. She decided to go to chiropractic school and joined Life University’s four-year program to gain her Doctor of Chiropractic Degree.

Why did you choose Jane after completing chiropractic school?

What are your favourite Jane features?

“I don’t have a front desk. I don’t have an assistant. Being mobile and not practicing in a traditional single space, Jane is like the secret weapon of my practice. It allows me to be a one-woman show. There’s a lot of automation in place for me, including online booking for my clients and appointment reminders automatically sent out by Jane. I’ve been able to automate everything using Jane.”

Why would you recommend Jane to new chiropractic graduates?

“Another big benefit of Jane is their customer support. If I ever have a question, I know I can call or email and have an answer within 24 hours. Their incredible support is included in the price, versus some platforms that make you pay extra for the technical support. I definitely feel the kindness of the Jane team come through in the emails and phone calls I have with them.”

How does Jane help your practice?

🗣 Jane Team Shoutout: You can set custom Return Visit Reminders for each patient appointment from within your schedule to help prevent patients from becoming inactive.

Tell us a little bit about what Chiro Junky is and why you founded it?

Dr. Magen brings her enthusiasm and passion for chiropractic care to all her social media and her website, as well as attending speaking events to educate her community about the benefits of chiropractic services. She also uses her platforms to uplift other practitioners in her community.”Currently, black Americans represent around 2% of chiropractic users, and I want to see that increase. I feel like in order for that to happen, we have to see more black chiropractors. I have a list of practitioners on my website to make sure people seeing chiropractic care can see the services available to them from people that look like them.”

What advice would you give new chiropractors just graduating school?

What do you find is the most rewarding aspect of the work that you do?

“I absolutely love what I do, and it is something I’m very passionate about. There are a lot of aspects to running my job, but if I had to choose one aspect that I love, it would be when my patients get off my table and tell me how much better they feel. Every day, I get to help people feel better and heal. That is the most rewarding aspect of my job.

Many of my patients are moms-to-be. When they bring their babies to meet me a couple of weeks after they give birth, it just shows how much they appreciate me and the care I provide. If I could do this work for free, I would.”
